Parking is the biggest local-move question we hear. A truck that parks close saves time on move day. On many blocks, the best way to get that space is a Temporary No Parking permit.

Do I need a parking permit for a moving truck in Philadelphia?
On many blocks, yes. The Philadelphia Streets Department issues Temporary No Parking permits for moving trucks. You must apply at least four business days before your move. After the permit is issued, you pick up signs at a police district headquarters and post them at least 24 hours ahead. We tell you how much curb space our truck needs.
Can movers get furniture up the stairs of a trinity house?
Often, yes, but not always. Trinity houses have narrow winding stairs that can stop a large sofa or box spring. We ask for photos or measure during the estimate. If a piece will not fit, we tell you before move day so you can plan, rather than finding out on the stairs.
How long does a local move in Philadelphia take?
A one-bedroom apartment move often takes half a day. A full rowhome or single home usually takes a full day. Time depends on the amount of furniture, stairs, elevator waits and how far the truck can park from each door. Packing ahead or booking our packers shortens move day.
Will the movers take apart and put back my furniture?
